Claims Process

• Report the accident or theft to the Police immediately but not later than 24 hours and obtain a police abstract

• Report the accident to CIC immediately through 0703 099 120, 020 282 3000

• Do Not Accept liability in case of an accident

• Call AA of Kenya on 020 697 9000, 0709 933 000 if you need to tow the vehicle from the scene of the accident (for comprehensive insurance only)

• Clear with the police and take the vehicle to any of our Recommended garage within nairobi (outside nairobi take the vehicle to a garage of your choice) and Notify us.

• Complete and return a claim form obtainable in all our offices and web site.

• Attach the Police Abstract and a Copy of the Driving licence of the person who was driving the vehicle at the time of the accident or loss.

• Copy of the diving license for the person driving the vehicle during the accident

Claims Process

• Complete and return a claim form obtainable in all our offices and web site giving the replacement cost of lost property

• Attach a statement from a watchman/guard or any witness

Claims Process

• Report the accident to CIC immediately through the given emergency or toll free numbers

• Follow the same with a written notification as one awaits to heal

• Complete and return a claim form obtainable in all our offices and web site attaching doctor’s prescription and medical bills receipts after a clean bill of health

• Attach a police abstract if it was a road traffic accident or assult

• Attach copy of death certificate if the accident was fatal

• Attach copies of pay slips for the previous three months before the accident if the cover is arranged on salary basis

• Original medical expenses receipts
• Pay slips for 3 months prior to the accident(for employees only)
• Police Abstract if injuries are due to an road traffic accident or assault
• Death certificate in case of fatal accident

 

Claims Process

• A client will first notify us in the event of death, accident, or diagnosis of a critical illness.

  • In the event of an incident leading to a claim.
  • Notification can be done through email lifecare@cic.co.ke or WhatsApp

 

• Once notification is received, the client will be advised on the necessary forms to be filled.

• The documents have been shared for upload

• Once the documents are received, they will be analyzed and communication to the client will be done

• Once all documents have been analysed and found to be in order, the claim will be processed, and a discharge voucher will be provided to the claimant.

• Payment of the claim will then follow

• The required documents are dependent on the type of claim

•The forms have all the necessary documents needed clearly indicated on them. It’s also important to note that further documentation can be requested for when need arises.

    NB: For Family Life Plan/Last Expense Claims, only requirement 1-6 are applicable

    2. Copy of ID of Policy Holder (Original & Copy)
    3. Burial Permit (Original & Copy)
    4. Certificate of Identity
    5. Certificate of Attending Physician
    6. Police Abstracr if accident is involved (Original & copy)
    7. Copy of ATM cart of claimant
    8. Death certificate (Orginal & Copy)
    9. The Original Policy Document (If lost Provide affidavit)
    10. Post mortem report (Original & Copy)
    11. Copy of Recent Pay slip of Policy holder (Check off)
    12. Death Claim Form,  Certificate of Attending Physician,    Certificate of Identity.
